about us
We are just average people like you with an idea who chose to
do something about it. Like most people, we decided to start BrainJams
out of frustration with the status quo. We saw events happening
like Gnomedex, BarCamp and TechCrunch BBQ and realized we needed
to take these concepts out of the technologists silo and bring
the principles to the rest of the economy.
BrainJams started with an event called Web
2.1, which was held as an alternative conference to the Web
2.0 conference being held by O'Reilly. It was such a success that
Alicia Preston and other's encouraged us to do another one. With
the input and support of a lot of great people, we pulled off
BrainJams3Dec2005 and as of January
2006 formed a non-profit corporation to expand the original ideas
and spread the goodness.

Much thanks and good wishes for all our past, present
and future supporters:
Since first writing about the idea for a BrainJams
event called Web2point1, there have been many people who have
stepped up to support our efforts. Beginning with Todd
Parsons who encouraged us to take a chance and Brian
Shields from KRON4 who first promoted the idea widely, there
has been a steady stream of good vibes. In an effort to keep this
succinct, let us say a special thanks to Rachel
Murray, Alicia Preston,
Tara Hunt, Andy
Kaufman, Nate Koechley,
Enric, Chris Messina,
Noah Kagan, Nivi,
Chris Pirillo, Christopher
Allen, David Gutelius,
Michael Arrington, Brian
Sullivan, Kaliya
and of course the wonderful blogging addict, Kristie
Wells.
